Toyota 4Runner Experience

In 2016, humanity turned up the volume. The media showed us a noisy, angry world.

And SUV advertising added an aggressive tone, with messages about conquering nature. To stand out amidst all the noise, we took a very different approach for Toyota 4Runner.

We created a 360 web experience that users could visit to explore the vehicle as well as immerse themselves into 4 different Wilderness “Therapy” environments. This allowed the consumer to escape the noise for a moment and learn about the 4Runner and its features.

We drove traffic to the web site through direct mail, social media as well as email.

The experience site was shared on Facebook and Instagram to encourage consumers to participate. 


To speak to the outdoor-minded consumer, we sent 4Runner-themed vintage-style patches in direct mail. Our intention was to encourage people to slow down and spend time sewing them on backpacks or outdoors apparel.
